Rogue-button

Happy Saturday gang! We’ll be live tonight at 7:30PM Central (1-4-25). We’ll be on the usual platforms tonight. Twitter (X), Rumble, Odysee and You Tube.

Tonight is the night we decide on what legislation to support in 2025. Bring your favorite 3 bills to the table for consideration and for a vote tonight. You can join us in signal to present your bills or put them in the comments section of any platform . We’ll be paring down a bit compared to previous years, we will only be taking in 3 bills this year. In past years we have supported 5, which is administratively a heavy load and I will not have as much time this year as I have had in past years (due to continuing trips to Minnesota). So let’s bring in the best of the best bills for consideration. The rules are still the same with just one caveat. If you have not joined us for any knock and shock missions to the capital or participated in phone call and email campaigns, please do not submit bills for consideration. This will cut down on the time necessary to go through and vote on the bills and prevent folks who are not willing to help do the work from steering the organization for their own interests.

As is our custom, we will be bringing forth legislation live tonight to vote for the legislation our organization will support for the 2025 legislative season. The rules are simple. The legislation MUST comply with Article 1 Section 2 of the Missouri Constitution. This clause simply states that any laws must apply to everyone equally. 90% of Missouri legislation misses that mark because most legislation benefits specific corporations, specific industries, specific groups of people or the government itself. Supporting legislation that is equally applied to all Missouri citizens is also a great way to remind legislators not to exceed their mandate and to keep their oaths of office and their commitment to the Missouri Constitution and their constituents. We will be choosing 3 bills to support in 2025. Other considerations include bills that must help protect Missouri and the sovereignty of the residents from threats such as the Missouri government itself, or from the federal government and even foreign governments and threats (such as the UN). Working with these parameters, we can help prevent Missouri from turning into Illinois or California. Please do not bring more than 3 bills for consideration. Our votes will be live and uncensored.

While some folks consider this “democratic” approach somewhat chaotic and messy, that’s because it has been in the past. Any time you get a group of folks together with differing interests and with voting power for what bills will be supported by the group and have the logo on any printed paperwork that is distributed in the capital, you have to be cautious. Although legislation wildly differs, the intent to keep or enhance our freedoms and to strengthen Missouri’s sovereignty should be the ONLY goal of this organization’s effort in the capital. Sometimes, these worlds collide with differing perspectives. Here’s an example…

Americans For Prosperity have announced their goal in Missouri in 2025 is to work on eliminating state income tax. Since only about 35% of Missourians pay income tax, it will only benefit 35% of the people? Right? Well, it actually benefits businesses too, there are less payroll taxes to calculate, and businesses will benefit from people having extra money and spending it with them. Seem reasonable? Let’s look at sales tax for food as another choice for a tax cut.

In Missouri, we have sales tax on food. Most states do not have this tax. However, 100% of Missourians eat food (although I do not know this for a fact, I feel statistically I cannot go wrong with my estimation ;). So if sales tax on food was eliminated, 100% of Missourians would benefit. Businesses that sell groceries would benefit by lightening the paperwork load on collecting the tax on groceries and sending it to the state. People will have more money to spend on groceries or anything else for that matter if grocery tax was eliminated. Most folks consider sales tax on groceries immoral (majority of states do not have this tax). As inflation keeps the prices of groceries going up, it keeps the tax going up as well because sales tax on food is a percentage tax. The steak that used to cost you $10 is now costing $18. You’ve nearly doubled the price of the steak and the sales tax simultaneously.

So, under Article 1 Section 2 of the Missouri Constitution, elimination of the sales tax on groceries complies much more closely to the letter and spirit of the Missouri Constitution. For that matter, eliminating Missouri gasoline tax is second best (after elimination of grocery sales tax) and eliminating property tax also is in MUCH closer alignment with the Missouri Constitution than eliminating Missouri income tax.

For 2 years, the Missouri Freedom Initiative fought hard to rid our state of grocery sales tax. We know the arguments against it, we know Representative Plocher (House Speaker) simply would not let it on the House floor for debate and perfection. He was honest and upfront with one of our members saying “This bill will not make it to the floor.” However, I think it’s important to point out, this is how Plocher operated. He was outside his mandate, he wasn’t for the people, he wasn’t for sovereignty or freedom. Plocher had an agenda and Missouri’s legislature was the main tool for him to work on his agenda. No one quite knows what to expect from Patterson or if Patterson will care about thousands of calls going into his office from the people of Missouri. Plocher simply did not care.

This was just an example of how one tax cut complies much more closely with the Missouri Constitution than another tax cut.

That’s it for now gang. I hope to see you tonight on the stream. Please do not forget Knock and Shock on January 15.

May God bless us all with good health and with wisdom and courage.

Yours for liberty,
