Hey gang, it’s with a heavy heart I write this, the first email I’ve sent in over 2 months. My wife (Retha) passed away last week. My absence from the grassroots scene and my job was because she was sick and I was taking care of her full time. Her medical problems were complicated and were never fully ascertained by either the medical community or by alt medicine. What took her life was a blood clot. She passed away at Cox South (hospital) on Tuesday, April 15th. She was 55 years old.
Retha’s legacy is unique and powerful. She was single handedly auditing school districts on her own time and her own dime. In the process she found out how many school districts play shell games with their financing and bank accounts. Her work caused DESE to have to make several corrections to publicly available financial data for many districts across the state. She was passionate about this and her work frankly went over my head. We were a good team and we had differing interests on grass root involvement at the state/local level. Needless to say, she was feared by superintendents and school board members across the state – especially if they had messy books and were trying to get a bond passed by the voters. This was one of the many things I loved about her so much, she was absolutely fearless in her pursuit of the truth and she blazed her own trails. Retha didn’t want fame or recognition for her work, as Retha always said “my treasure is in heaven.” I didn’t just lose my wife of 28 years, my best friend and my soul mate, Missouri lost an important grass roots activist that made a BIG difference in MANY corrupt school districts where the financials had never been investigated and/or challenged before and she exposed the shenanigans. Because of these efforts, many school bonds failed (sometimes by razor thin margins) costing school districts across the state hundreds of millions of dollars in new financing (collectively).
I am grateful for the support we have been given. The prayers for Retha and myself are not only appreciated, they are what kept us going. Daniel Diaz with Citizens for Sound Money and our own Isaac Gaither have organized a fundraiser to help us out with expenses. I am VERY grateful for this as I literally haven’t worked as I was caring for Retha. My deepest thanks to everyone who donated. This really helped more than I can say. Some folks sent out money separate from the official fund raiser. Again, thank you so much.
Needless to say, Retha’s passing has impacted our family dramatically. It’s going to take time to figure out our lives without her here. Retha’s celebration of life has been scheduled for May 24th from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at the community center in Republic, Missouri. This is where Retha taught Okinawa Karate. Everyone is welcome, it will be catered.
Since Retha passed, I have been home mostly as it has been difficult to socialize. I’ve been spending a lot of time on the phone with friends and family but it is time for me to get out again. I’ve talked to Travis (Prepared Homestead) and I will be speaking at the Prepared Homestead meeting this Sunday (April 27). I probably will not talk much about Retha’s passing but I will be bringing my Rife machine. This will be the focus, technology that is not allowed for use in the American medical system that is 90 years old and if properly used, can possibly eliminate most needs for medications. This may help folks understand why this technology is banned by the AMA. If this interests you, please consider coming to the meeting. If you have never been to a Prepared Homestead meeting before, please contact Travis at preparedhomestead@protonmail.com for information, directions and the address. The meetings are generally well attended and are pot luck. I haven’t been to a meeting since June of 2024 and I am looking forward to returning.
Apparently, HB433 (Constitutional Money Act) is moving in the House. I am not keeping up with anything in Jefferson City and haven’t been this year. Retha was my priority as I am sure you understand. I have no idea what can be done to help this bill at this time except for calling your reps again and ask them to vote yes. Some folks are active in our signal group that can coordinate support for the gold and silver bill. You can access the group from the link below.
Thank you all for your love, support and patience in this difficult time for our family.
May God bless us all with good health and with wisdom and courage.
Yours for liberty,
