Rogue-button

Happy Friday night gang. As you all know there will be no live stream tomorrow, this is a heads up on what we can do right now to help the some of the bills we support as of right now.

Senator Mike Moon’s SB25 – The Missouri Constitutional Money Act. This bill is in committee and was assigned to insurance and banking. No hearing has been scheduled as of the time of this writing. What we can do to help this along is call and/or e-mail everyone on this committee and support this bill. We support it by giving reasons why this bill would help Missouri, such as “I think this bill will really help Missouri by giving the people and businesses a tool (and confirm the state’s right under article 1 section 10 of the United States Constitution) to fight current inflation and future inflation.” Or “If our local banks started working with gold and silver it can really help micro-economies around the state.” Gold and silver maintain their purchasing power over time. Sadly, the dollar has NEVER accomplished this since the federal reserve act of 1913, this is why the dollar is referred to as currency and gold/silver are money.

Sample e-mail:

“Senator Crawford, I want to thank you first for your support of the silver and gold legal tender legislation in 2023 and 2024, it was much appreciated and I have not forgotten it. In your committee now, it is Senator Mike Moon’s SB25. I hope we can get a hearing on this bill soon so we can get this bill moving. I believe this is one the most important bills filed this year as everyone has been hurt by inflation over the past 4 years which was caused by overprinting the dollar. Silver and gold values have risen to match the inflation, in other words, silver and gold have maintained their purchasing power while the dollar has lost approximately 30% of its purchasing power during the same period in the past 4 years. The free market solutions for use of gold and silver for transactions are available but since we have capital gains on silver and gold in Missouri, the businesses that provide these solutions currently are not in Missouri. If Missouri were to get rid of capital gains on gold and silver (SB25 does this) business and jobs for transactional gold and silver will come to this state. This is an option that people in the state want, and the Constitution of the United States allows for this. Please consider co-sponsoring this legislation as well. Please contact me if you would like more information or would like to have a conversation on SB25.”

PLEASE do not copy and paste, please re-write if you use this template.

Senate Insurance and Banking Committee members:

Chair: Senator Sandy Crawford (573) 751-8793 email
Vice chair: Senator David Greggory (573) 751-5568 email
Senator Justin Brown (573) 751-5713 email
Senator Lincoln Hough (pronounced “Huff”) (573) 751-1311 email
Senator Tracy McCreery (573) 751-9762 email
Senator Angela Mosley (573) 751-2420 email
Senator Curtis Trent (573) 751-1503 email

When contacting any Senator or Representative, please stay positive. Let them know that you support the bill with enthusiasm. Try to smile when you talk on the phone. Many people can “hear” that you are smiling when you are talking on the phone. Most of the time, you’ll be leaving a voice mail message or talking to their LA (Legislative Assistant) or Chief of Staff. If you call  on an evening or weekend, voicemail is the only option. I do this a lot as it works better with my schedule.

Witness forms can be filled out but only at the capital itself If you happen to be at the capital, please ask Senator Moon’s staff for a witness form for SB25. There are no electronic witness forms currently for anything in the Senate. I honestly do not know if we will have a hearing on Tuesday, January 28th at this time. Senator Crawford has until noon on Monday to notice up the hearing if it is to be Tuesday next week.

The John Birch Society is helping with Constitutional Money Act with an email system. This simple, easy to use system will email your Senator and Representative in a single turnkey move. Although I do not like “robo” e-mails and I suspect many legislators do not care much for them either, they can be helpful, especially for folks who have a hard time writing one supporting legislation. This easy to use system is found right here. You will notice you can customize your email that you send. I recommend you do so and ask for co-sponsors at the same time. Remember, when serving on a committee in the general assembly, the Representatives and Senators are serving all constituents in the state in that capacity. There is no issue with calling a Senator that doesn’t represent your district and speak with them about a bill in their committee, and even ask them to vote a certain way in committee.

Representative Bill Hardwick’s HB433 – The Constitutional Money Act House companion bill to SB25 is HB433 and is still awaiting committee assignment. This should be in the next few weeks. As of this time, it has 10 co-sponsors. Let’s keep working for more co-sponsors. Same deal, emails and/or phone calls. Whatever you can do. One Initiative member (Carrie Gaither) was able to get 3 co-sponsors for HB433 last week while on her lunch break at work simply by e-mailing 3 representatives. I usually prefer to call rather than email but I am doing both. On the next live stream, I will call a representative’s office that has not co-sponsored yet so you can see/hear how I usually approach this when leaving voice mail.

That’s all for now gang. I will work on our other bills next week. I hope you all have a Blessed weekend.

May God bless us all with good health and with wisdom and courage.

Yours for liberty,
Patrick Holland
